The ultimate Chocolate Covered Oranges: tangerine and orange slices dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with red pepper flakes for a nice kick .

Chocolate Covered Oranges with Red Pepper Flakes

It is that time of year ago, when our orange trees are so loaded the branches started breaking. Which means there are oranges and tangerines all over our kitchen.

Don’t you just love the fresh smell of citrus peels all over the house ? It is the best part of winter in my humble opinion, definitely not the cold, the barren trees and not the snow, but oranges you guys.

I remember when I was a little kid I would look forward to Christmas because we would get oranges as presents under the tree. Can you even imagine nowadays leaving that there for your kids ? Haha, the trauma !

But for me, oranges were magic, and they still are today. I know I’ve talked about them before, and about my favorite way to enjoy them, dipped in dark chocolate and chilled. There’s no fine candy out there that even comes close to chocolate covered oranges.

I’m used to sprinkling them with some coarse sea salt and OMG you guys, that combination is fantastical. But yesterday I sprinkled them with red pepper flakes and I could not wait to share. Holy moly ! If you are into spicy chocolate bars at all, then you will love these ! Just enough spice to leave you with that little burning at the end of your throat to linger a little bit.

Would you judge me If I told you I ate them all by myself ? Two oranges and 2 tangerines dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with chile flakes. I mean this was enough to entertain 4 people, but I made a meal out of them.

Don’t you worry tough because there’s no yucky stuff in there. Just oranges and organic smooth rich dark chocolate, plus red pepper flakes which are super good for you and your metabolism. Sign me up for another tray of chocolate covered oranges please.

I don’t think I could say no to any chocolate covered fruit, I mean hello chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day, but still they don’t win over chocolate covered oranges. Do I sound like the chocolate covered orange monster or what ?!

But who cares, these are healthy treats  perfect for after school snacking too, and midnight cravings and random: I don’t know what i want to eat snacking too. Hehe ! Let’s go make some chocolate covered oranges and watch a movie in our flannel pajamas – Florentina xo’s

  1. Practically health food! LOL. I love these little lovelies rather a lot, so simple, yet a complex flavour bomb when you bite into it. I really look forward to trying this, thinking these might be a nice morning tea for my work mates next week. 🙂
