How to make sparkling orange lemonade at home!

Sparkling Orange Lemonade Recipe

An easy orange lemonade recipe you can make with whatever oranges you have available!

The Morro blood orange variety will give your lemonade a very beautiful crimson color, the Tarocco blood oranges will result in a color similar to that in the photos, it all depends on the color of the flesh of your oranges.

I use sparkling water for the bubbles, so it is a good idea to mix that in just before serving. Otherwise it won’t be all that bubbly a few hours later. If you want you could even add some orange blossom water in there for a little something special.

This is actually my healthy knock-off version of the Blood Orange Pellegrino (<—amazon), it comes pretty close in taste and guilt free.

Blood Orange Lemonade

Just for fun, and because it is also pansy and viola season, I made some viola ice cubes especially for this blood orange lemonade. Because really, there’s nothing like having a purple pansy floating in your lemonade.

To turn it into a cocktail just add a good splash of vodka and voila!

  1. Why haven’t I ever though of this? The sweetness of the orange will subtly tame the acidity of the lemons. Yummy!

  2. Looks very refreshing! The ice cubes are so pretty, I must try these when my violets come into bloom this summer. I love that your recipe calls for maple syrup, as I try and include local maple syrup in my recipes too — especially in my vinaigrettes.

  3. Great idea! Our neighbors often drop 10 pound bags of oranges on our stoop and we sometimes struggle with using them up – there are only so many Portokalopitas you can make! I’ll try your Orange Chia “pudding” too!

  4. My favorite drink is San Pellegrino with lemonade. This orange lemonade is gorgeous and I’m sure it tastes amazing!

  5. This sounds DELISH but………………………syrup? Really?! MAPLE? Can you taste the maple syrup? I’m not a big fan of maple syrup, even on my pancakes and/or waffles. Could this be sub’d w/ honey or agave? Otherwise this looks SOOO yummy my mouth is watering!!
