Easy Shrimp Stock Recipe

Ingredients

  • lb The shells from 2 wild shrimp rinsed well
  • 4 qt water filtered
  • 1 pieces large carrot cut Into 4
  • 1 small onion halved
  • 5 cloves large garlic whole
  • 1 bunch thyme organic
  • 2 leaves bay
  • The stalks from 1/2 bunch of parsley organic
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • sea salt to taste

Instructions

  • Add all of the shrimp stock ingredients to a large stock pot. Bring to a gentle simmer, partially cover with a lid and cook for 1 hour. Season to taste with the sea salt.
  • Strain the shrimp stock through a cheese cloth lined mesh strainer and serve on its own garnished with fresh thyme and herbs or use for cioppino and shellfish risotto or paella.
