The only strawberry Basil Lemonade Recipe you need. I promise !
But you really don’t need to, because I swear this is the best strawberry basil lemonade you’ll ever make and you’ll want to drink the entire pitcher. You see how that could be a problem if there was vodka in there…
So much for all my soups and stews plans for this week. No thank you, it feels like July in Southern California, and all I want is to sit in a reasonably cool room sipping on strawberry basil lemonade in my yoga pants, while somebody fans my face and rubs my feet. Okay, that did not happen, but the strawberry basil lemonade recipe came to life, and I might just pour the rest of it on top of my head. It is Hot-just look at that pitcher sweating !
I really got lucky at the market with the strawberries. I stumbled upon perfectly ripe organic strawberries, I knew they were amazing when I could smell them from a foot away. That is how you can tell if your strawberries are going to be sweet and fragrant: the smell. If you have to stick your nose up in the box and still can’t smell the strawberries, better walk away.
I ate about half of them that same night just sitting on the couch, and the rest in the strawberry basil lemonade they went. I used to be all about the cucumber lemonade, which I’m still crazy about, but at this moment in time, my heart and soul belong to the strawberry basil lemonade now.
How would I describe this Strawberry Basil Lemonade ?
Absolute thirst quenching perfection that is healthy and too delicious to describe into words. You’ll just have to make some now.
Extremely simple to execute too: squeeze a bunch of lemons, puree the juice with some fresh organic strawberries and basil in a small food processor. Sweeten to your taste and serve over ice. I really hope you’ll adventure into making this before the strawberries are all gone.
As it is the case with most recipes here, my version of this strawberry basil lemonade recipe is a rustic one, if you insist you may strain the lemonade before serving but the way I see it: why bother ? Rustic is beautiful imperfection !
